Andrew Trees, LSM '10

San Diego, CA
College Major:
Biology, Philosophy
Wharton Concentrations:

What are you doing currently?

I recently founded a health tech startup, Agathos, that uses data analytics to help physicians better understand and act upon the quality, costs, and efficiency of their care.

How did LSM help prepare you for life after college?

In my first job with ClearView (consulting), our clients counted on us to be able to understand both biomedical processes and industry market dynamics. The knowledge and skills I gained through LSM allowed me immediately to add value alongside colleagues from graduate-level programs at other schools. LSM also has a fantastic network of industry contacts, program affiliates, and alumni who have helped me every step of the way.

What was your favorite aspect of the LSM program?

The internships. These were invaluable for me when I was still figuring out what I wanted to do and what I was good at. When I entered LSM, I did not even know what a management consultant was. And while I learned that bench research wasn’t for me, I am always surprised by how much my scientific knowledge has been useful in the office.

What do you think you’ll be doing 5 years from now?

Definitely something in healthcare. I am hooked. Hopefully by then Agathos will be the universally recognized standard for valuable care.
