What makes the LSM community unique compared to other academic communities around Penn?

The people in the LSM community are some of the most welcoming and supportive people I have met at Penn. Although the program has peer advisors, I have reached out to many others for advice. Because we are a smaller dual-degree program, it is also easier to get to know people on a personal level.

What are your 3 favorite aspects of the LSM program?

Exposure – I have learned a lot from pharma/medical industry leaders in the Career Conversations that are hosted several times a semester.
Versatility – Because of the program’s curriculum, I have taken classes that I would not have necessarily taken if I was a single degree student.
Cooperation – I have taken many classes with fellow LSM students and it is easy to form study groups with them!

What internships have you completed?

For my internship the summer after freshman year, I worked in Regulatory Affairs at Merck. I was able to apply directly some of the knowledge I obtained in LSMP 121; in particular, familiarity with terms like BLA, NDA, and the government’s role in the drug pipe-line helped me in my role.

What are your 3 favorite things about the city of Philadelphia?

Food –  Accessibility —Night Life

What extracurriculars do you do at Penn?

I am involved in Penn Boxing and the LSM Student Advisory Board!
