What are three words you would use to describe LSM?

Engaging, challenging, and diverse.

LSM is a community that has challenged me to push my boundaries, learn new skill sets, meet interesting people of all backgrounds, and most importantly develop myself overall as a student.

What do you find most rewarding or enjoyable about the LSM program?

The community you find. There are so many people from so many backgrounds who are always willing to help, have fun, and have random conversations of life. The LSMers have always been there for me and have helped me progress as a student and as a scholar at Penn. They continually motivate me to be a better version of myself and are the perfect support system I needed as a student.

What is the favorite thing you’ve done at Penn so far?

As a student at Penn, I recently joined the LSM Pipeline program as a Program Coordinator. It allows me to teach something as new and tantalizing as the intersection of life sciences and business to high school students in Philadelphia. Being able to see the kids’ faces light up as they learn about biotechnology or finance careers they never knew existed truly excites me and is something I aspire to continue.

What main extracurricular activities do you do at Penn?

I am currently a Program Coordinator within the LSM Pipeline program. Beyond that, I am a Senior Consultant within MUSE Generalist Consulting and am involved in other professional clubs such as WITG Healthcare. I like to spend my time within Pottruck where I am an active member in the Penn Barbell Club and I am still excited to explore even more!

Do you have plans for after graduation (tentative or otherwise)?

After graduation, I plan on going to work within industry, specifically in healthcare consulting for a few years where I will explore my interest in different players of the healthcare space. After which, I plan on continuing my education at Medical School where I tentatively plan on specializing as an oncologist. Uncertain of my path after Medical School, I aspire one day to start my own biotechnology firm and create ground-breaking treatments for those in need.
