Lisa Schoenberg is an experienced life science executive with a proven track record of delivering outstanding results.  With 20 years of experience at AstraZeneca, she has been an integral part of corporate governance functions, managed brands and portfolios across multiple therapeutic areas and stages of product lifecycle.  Most recently, Lisa was Vice President of Sales & Marketing, accountable for a P&L in excess of $5 Billion and a team of over 2500 people.  In this role, she was responsible for CV, Diabetes, Respiratory and Oncology brands and with over 50% of the US P&L, she was a key member of the US Leadership Team.  She played an integral role in business development and licensing activities, from evaluation through deal execution, and was responsible for the AZ/BMS diabetes alliance.  Since leaving AstraZeneca, Lisa has brought her expertise to select clients in a consulting capacity helping to launch and turn around brands and provide business strategy advice to improve performance.  In addition, she was a member of two Boards of Directors where she actively supported both businesses to successfully launch into the challenging US market. 

Prior to the role of VP Sales & Marketing, Lisa held a number of positions at AstraZeneca including VP of Marketing and VP of Mature Brands.  As VP of Marketing, Lisa was responsible for building organizational capabilities, resource allocation, portfolio prioritization and skills development for all commercial staff. Lisa was also responsible for the launch of Nexium – one of the most successful launches of all time and one of the few iconic pharmaceutical brands to exist today.  

Lisa is known as a strategic leader who has consistently built high performing teams, industry leading brands and capabilities. Through a solid blend of hands on involvement, experience, business acumen, customer intimacy and problem solving skills, Lisa has demonstrated a consistent ability to improve organizational effectiveness and business outcomes. Her unique leadership style inspires trust and loyalty, resulting in highly engaged teams that are committed to delivering results. She and her teams have had the privilege of building four of the most successful pharmaceutical brands of all time: Prilosec, Nexium, Crestor and Seroquel.

Lisa was on the Board of Directors of Vernalis PLC, and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.  She was also on the Board of Datos health, a start up private company seeking to transform the way patient generated data is used.  She is a Trustee at The Shipley School where she recently led the Strategic Planning process and chaired the Head of School Search Committee. She is a Board Member of Jewish Family & Children Services, Israel Cancer Research Fund and teaches Business Communication at The Wharton School.

Lisa holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree from The Wharton School in Health Care Management and Marketing.
