Why did you choose LSM?

I chose LSM because it provides an unprecedented opportunity to study and innovate at the intersection of science and business. As someone interested in biotechnology and health policy, I felt that LSM would encourage me to investigate how resources should be allocated to improve existing healthcare infrastructure, and understand how scientific discoveries can be translated into products that benefit those in need.

What do you find most rewarding or enjoyable about the LSM program?

I find the sense of community the most rewarding aspect of LSM. My first friends at Penn were part of my cohort in LSM, and everyone in the program is always open to helping each other out or have a chat. It was also very comforting to me to be part of a group of people who share the same academic interests, introduce each other to new ideas, and support each other.

Are you doing research currently? If so, where and on what, and what do you like about it?

I am currently researching the quantification of the pathology of corticobasal syndrome and frontotemporal dementia at the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research (CNDR) at Penn Medicine under Dr. Virginia Lee. Corticobasal syndrome is a relatively under-researched neurodegenerative disease and is frequently misdiagnosed, which is why I find it exciting and rewarding to work with the CNDR to understand a variety of uncommon neurodegenerative conditions.

What main extracurricular activities do you do at Penn?

Snider Consulting, Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research, Wharton Undergraduate Healthcare Club, Wharton Marketing Undergraduate Student Establishment (MUSE), In Transcription, Wharton Asia Exchange, Penn Opera and Musical Theater Workshop
